NOTES:
A slide symbol (/) to the same note indicates to sustain that note.
This tune has a lot of syncopated bass notes, for example -
measures nine and ten where the thumb strikes the bass on the off beat.
Takes quite a while (at least for me!) to get used to.
As always, corrections appreciated.

The F#m and Em marked with a ' * ' - I'm almost sure that I used to play a Bm for these two chords,
but the F#m and Em sound better just now. (I have a guitar with me, but not the record).
You might like to stick Bm in there if it sounds better for you.

"Meet on the Ledge." #2

If you are playing the song in A, the marked chords should indeed be Bm.

Actually, though, on the album, the song is played in B-flat.
(Someone's playing a piano on the track, so it's really not too surprising.)

Here are the chords of the song, in Bb:

Hey, it may be a gloomy tune, but it certinly shows RT's talents on the guitar.
If you haven't already gone out and bought the FFKT album "Invisible Means" then buy it!
If only for this song!

When playing the song live, Richard capos at the second fret and drops the sixth string down to D.
This gives a more drony sound. It also means that the chords are considerably easier to play.
Hence, you can play more twiddly bits over the top!!!
If anyone can figure out the EXACT twiddly bits... I would be VERY grateful!!

I heard this song nearly a thousand years ago,
and as simple as the music of the song is, it captivates me still today.

The song appears on the CD "Songs of Leonard Cohen"
and on the newest live album "Leonard Cohen: Live In Concert"
